OTGS: Previous projects and results

Open Trade Gate Sweden supports companies in low- and middle-income countries in exporting to Sweden and the EU. Here, we share examples from previous projects, showing how our support contributes to increased export readiness and market entry.

Ukrainian food companies explore the Swedish market

Ukrainian food companies strengthened their export readiness and gained a better understanding of the Swedish market through support from Open Trade Gate Sweden.
Participating companies received training on food safety, labelling and sustainability requirements, combined with individual coaching and meetings with Swedish importers. This helped them better understand both market expectations and how to position their products.
As a result, the companies improved their export strategies and developed initial business contacts.

“The support from OTGS has been really valuable. Besides the financial part, there is a lot of additional support by the consultants, like organising meetings, matchmaking, sales coaching.”
Ievgen Lomtiev, Export Sales Manager, ALTE Foods LLC

Moldovan IT companies connect with Swedish partners

Moldovan IT companies gained insights into the Swedish market and strengthened their ability to build international partnerships through support from Open Trade Gate Sweden.
Through meetings with Swedish companies and organisations, they were able to test their offers and better understand business culture, communication and market needs.
The initiative contributed to increased confidence in approaching international clients and a clearer positioning of services.

“OTGS together with Invest Moldova and our mentor that we received through OGTS, have been instrumental for us to obtain more insights into the market, to the challenges, and to the business environment here.”

Ancient crops from Bolivia reach European markets

Producers of ancient crops from Bolivia, such as quinoa and amaranth, received support to better access European markets, including Sweden.
The companies strengthened their knowledge of EU requirements related to food safety, certification and sustainability, while also engaging with potential buyers. The support helped them better understand how traditional products can meet demand in a competitive international market.
As a result, they improved their export readiness and developed clearer strategies for entering the European market. Today, products are available in several Swedish stores.

“Thanks to the support, we have been able to better understand the European market and take concrete steps to establishing a permanent market presence.”
