EU Days Lund 2026: Time to wake up the Single Market’s sleeping giant

Twenty years have passed since the EU Services Directive was introduced, yet the EU Single Market for services remains an untapped resource. On 2 November, the National Board of Trade Sweden is hosting a discussion on why deeper services integration is crucial – particularly at a time when Europe is facing increasingly fierce global competition.

EU Days Lund, Sweden’s largest annual EU forum, will take place on 2–3 November, bringing together around 700 Swedish and international speakers and participants for discussions on Europe’s future in the fields of politics, research and dialogue.

The National Board of Trade Sweden is organising the seminar “The Single Market for Services – the need to wake up Europe’s sleeping giant”. The discussion will centre on questions such as: What is needed to deepen services integration in the Single Market? How do we get there, and who is responsible for taking action? Why is this particularly important in today’s geopolitical landscape?
