Trade Academy Trade Promotion is a training programme designed to equip trade promotion organisations in low- and middle-income countries with the skills and knowledge to effectively deliver export readiness training to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

This programme aims to create a lasting impact by empowering SMEs with the essential tools and expertise they need to thrive in Swedish and European markets.

Programme objectives

  • Strengthen the capacity and skills of participants from trade promotion organisations to design and deliver export readiness programmes.
  • Develop a standardised training curriculum and programme on export readiness for consistent and impactful learning.
  • Support trade promotion organisations in organising and implementing the trainings in their countries.

Programme highlights

Comprehensive modules: Gain knowledge on export processes and “Road to export“, the EU single market, market trends, regulatory compliance, and more.

Interactive workshops: Gain training skills and learn how to deliver training with hands-on modules and real-world cases.

Expert guidance: Upgrade and update your export readiness knowledge by learning from National Board of Trade’s experts.

Networking opportunities: Connect with peers and build valuable professional relationships.

Programme schedule

May: Warm up phase
After the selection process is completed, we will meet with participants, introduce the programme, and guide you through your initial preparation tasks.

9–18 June: Training delivery
The training will take place in Stockholm, Sweden.

September–December: Mentorship
Mentorship and support in future export readiness training

Cost covering

Participation in Trade Academy Trade Promotion is free of charge for the selected participants. Cost of accommodation and insurance in Stockholm during the training will be covered by the National Board of Trade.

Organisations should cover the costs of flight tickets and insurance for their nominated participants.

Selection of participants

The selection of participants will be made by the National Board of Trade. The selection is based on the requirements stated on this page and the qualifications of the applicants.

To complete the course, participants are required to take part in all phases of the TATP training. A diploma will only be issued if the participant has completed all four phases.

All candidates will be notified by e-mail if they are accepted or not. The accepted applicants must confirm their participation.
