Invitation to Trade Academy EU Integration 2026

The National Board of Trade Sweden invites civil servants and representatives from relevant organisations in Albania, Moldova, North Macedonia and Ukraine to apply for Trade Academy EU Integration 2026. Trade Academy EU Integration is organised by the National Board of Trade, the Swedish government agency for international trade, the EU internal market and trade policy. We hereby invite you to apply for Trade Academy EU Integration 2026.

The programme is designed to provide knowledge on EU integration and to develop the organisational and practical skills needed to turn knowledge into action within your institution.

Participation is free of charge, and the National Board of Trade covers:

  • international travel,
  • accommodation and meals in Stockholm, and
  • travel insurance.

The phases of the programme

PHASE 1: 2 March- 15 April
E-learning introductory phase (online from home)

PHASE 2: 20-29 April
In-depth focus on trade-related issues (Stockholm, Sweden)

PHASE 3: 1 May-31 October
Interactive sessions (online from home) and home assignment

PHASE 4: 9-13 November
Final sessions (Stockholm, Sweden)

A practical programme for real results

This programme is for professionals who want to turn knowledge into action through hands-on learning. You will take part in practical exercises that help you reflect on your current way of working and explore new methods.

Together with colleagues from other organisations, you will improve coordination within your organisation, strengthen EU integration procedures, and develop the skills needed to negotiate and communicate effectively in an EU context.

The programme is closely connected to your daily work. What you learn can be applied directly in your professional environment, helping you turn insights into concrete actions that leadf to lasting results.

  • Types of trade integration such as customs union, free trade agreements including Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), internal market, EU membership
  • EU structure and institutions
  • Impact of EU membership (for countries and businesses)
  • Trade in goods and services
  • Digital single market
  • Sustainable development in trade
  • International negotiation training
  • Communication for EU integration
  • Role-play exercises

Institutional action plan

During the programme, you will create an action plan to apply what you learn in your workplace. To do this successfully, support from your organisation and mandate to drive change is important.

Who should apply

Primary target group are civil servants and experts involved in EU accession, EU law implementation, or legislative harmonisation.

Applicants should be in roles where they can influence reforms or institutional development. Representatives from business organisations and universities involved in EU integration are also welcome.

Participation and requirements

  • The programme includes both online and in-person activities.
  • All sessions require active participation.
  • All content is in English (no interpretation is provided).
  • A diploma is awarded only if all programme phases are completed.
