A new analysis from the National Board of Trade Sweden sets out ten proposals to strengthen the EU’s economic security cooperation with third countries.
Geopolitical tensions and the growing use of geoeconomic tools have pushed economic security up the EU agenda. Cooperation has expanded through formats such as the G7 and bilateral partnerships, but it remains fragmented. Many economic security tools are still applied unilaterally, highlighting the need for deeper and more structured cooperation.
”Strengthening ties with trusted partners and enhancing cooperation through the OECD can lead to more coordinated and effective economic security policies”, says Hannes Berggren, trade policy adviser and author of the analysis.
