Collaborating with business support organisations
Open Trade Gate Sweden organises seminars and webinars on exporting to Sweden, targeting companies interested in exporting to Sweden and the EU. We also provide technical assistance through long-term projects in the field of export promotion.
Seminars are arranged upon request. Usually, the initiative is taken by the country embassy covering Sweden, which identifies a suitable local partner organisation, such as the official export promotion organization or the Chamber of Commerce. The events are planned and organised by the local partner in cooperation with Open Trade Gate Sweden. We can also provide information to incoming delegations visiting Sweden.
All seminars are tailored
Our seminars are tailor-made in order to respond to the needs of the participants, focusing on one or two product sectors. At the seminar, you will receive practical information regarding export procedures, EU regulations and requirements, as well as applicable trade agreements, rules of origin, certification, and standards. We will also provide product-specific information for the targeted sectors and provide facts about Sweden and the Swedish market as well as consumer demands and trends.
Export to Sweden seminar in Uganda
This seminar focused on mandatory requirements when exporting fruit and vegetables, oilseeds and pulses and coffee to Sweden, as well as information on the EU’s economic relations, the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP), product classification, and rules of origin. The seminar also covered information on the Swedish market and how to approach it. Ugandan companies in the coffee and fruit sector presented their experiences on exporting to the EU.
The seminar, on site in Kampala, Uganda, was offered by Open Trade Gate Sweden in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy and the Uganda Export Promotion Board (UEPB). 30 companies participated, as well as delegates from sector associations.
Open Trade Gate Sweden provides technical assistance through long-term projects in the field of export promotion. The objective is capacity building and thereby making companies export-ready.
Open Trade Gate Sweden’s work aims to contribute to the integration of our partner countries in international trade by strengthening the capacity of exporters directly or by supporting exportpromotion organisations in their work with their member companies. In concrete terms, these projects focus on and include trainings on rules and regulations, the Swedish market, facilitating contact between buyers and sellers (matchmaking) activities and visits to trade fairs in Europe. We work with a partner organisation, such as the official export promotion organisation or the Chamber of Commerce. Together, we decide the focus and target group of the project, on the basis of the need of the organisation and exporters.
