Will forthcoming EU legislation reduce fragmentation of labelling requirements on the single market? Harmonisation is the key, and some steps forward are foreseen. However, legislative challenges remain.

The National Board of Trade Sweden has analysed several EU legislative proposals that contain harmonising labelling requirements.

Various national labelling requirements are burdensome for companies that want to sell their products in the EU.

In this PM, the National Board of Trade puts forward several recommendations that, in our opinion, could contribute to the shift to a circular economy while preserving the functioning of the Single Market, as well as global trade.
